GENERAL
Warts
Warts are common benign tumors of the skin caused by the infection of human papillomavirus.
Most of the lesions show spontaneous regression, but some may increase in number and size, which may interfere with daily activities of the infected individuals.
Treatments
Cantharidin is a substance that comes from the green blister beetle. Cantharidin is a vesicant, which means it causes the skin to blister. It is applied to a wart, which is then covered by a bandage or tape. Over the next 12-24 hours, it may cause the skin to blister. This lifts the wart off of the skin, so the wart will come off when the blister dries.
